Émilie, 13, is entrusted to a group home at the DPJ. Confronted with new strict rules and the authoritarian presence of her follow-up educator, she chooses instead to flee her new reality, even if it means denying her own needs. All she wants is to fill her lack of love by returning at all costs to Karine, her egocentric mother. The girl is also under the influence of 16-year-old Ariel, her roommate with whom she does the 400 strokes. But each of her reunions with Renaud, who gives her guitar lessons, are glimmers of hope for Émilie. The adolescent will thus learn the art of resilience, gradually regaining self-confidence.
