Robert Bidochon, very average Frenchman, and Raymonde Bidochon, born Galopin, who has nothing to envy him, got to know each other thanks to a marriage agency. After their marriage, a "cheesy" ceremony if ever there was one, they moved into a furnished apartment. And their little life goes by. Madame Bidochon takes care of everyday life, shopping, cleaning, in a word: banality. She finds that unfair.
