"THE FRENCH BLUEBEARD" - The plot summary is a real story, so... Henri-Désiré Landru (1869-1922) was a French swindler and deserter who, during WWI, seduced more than 250 single women (250 women in his bed in only 4 years : Casanova and Don Juan are K.O. !), noting each of them in a little notebook... When he find women with some bank savings, he invited them in his country cottage. The ones who were invited were never seen anymore. Pretty smart and organized, he used many names and disguises, but one of his victim's sister recognized him in the street in 1919. Soon arrested, he was accused of 11 murders (ten lovers + the son of one of them). He strangled his preys, cut them into pieces and destroyed the body parts in his stove. His trial happened in Versailles in November, 1921, he was sentenced to death on November 30th, 1921. Landru was guillotined on the morning of February 25th, 1922, in front of the Versailles' prison. He is still one of the most famous serial killers.
